The Accordionist

The painting "The accordion player" by Aurelio Arteta (1879-1940) is a double memory of what one might hear several years ago in any Basque coastal town. Double because, it echoes the sound of fishermen accordions and because it echoes the suffering of the memories of those who hear it.
