St Jean de Luz - Fire to zanpanzar!

Recorded at the main carnaval day in Ziburu/Ciboure. Probably the most important moment of this day is at the end of the parade when all the people burns zapantzar. This tradition comes originally from the festivity of solstice change, and zanpantzar simbolizes the winter and all the bad things that happened, while burning it is a way to wellcome the spring and the party. On this ocassion the burning of zanpantzar also is used to tell the people about the delicate situation of the gaztetxe, a 20 years old squat run by young people.
