In the afternoon a slight thunderstorm rose. It was a oxen market day and a dozen girls were dancing. The Guardian of San Francisco sent six dozen of rabbits. We were in the house where the Society of Friends celebrates their meeting. We could hear the shriking sound of the ox carts sounding like trumpets of Holy Week, at what they do consist Swains much of his gallantry. At night, there was a street serenade by several instruments.
