The painting “Galerna” (1910-1912) by Aurelio Arteta (1879-1940) presents a typical Cantabric coast scene, where a group of people, mainly men, look at an inminent storm arriving to the coast. The storm shows up as a visual ellipsis as it is not represented on the panting but resounds as a rumble on the eyes of the main characters. Meanwhile, the artist creates some kind of silence that covers the whole scene of this scared fishermen.
